Welcome to Maple Class
Our teachers are Miss Todhunter and Miss Parkinson and our teaching assistant is Mrs Arends. In Year 3, we are beginning our journey into KS2 and will continue to grow and develop into happy, confident learners. Children are afforded a little more responsibility when they move into the juniors and we try to encourage children to have a little more independence. The school day is very busy with a varied timetable which is designed to encourage learning and enjoyment by all. We promote a growth mindset approach to learning and encourage all children to try their best and to have the confidence to have a go.
We are going to be learning about lots of exciting things this year including:
Invaders and Settlers- Learning about life in Anglo Saxon times.
Curious About Coppull-We will be finding out about the history of our local area and how Coppull has changed over the last 100 years to coincide with our school centenary.
Vicious Vikings-Learning about life in Viking Britain.
Break time snacks Toast and bagels are available at break time payable via SCOPay. This needs to be paid for in advance please.
PE: We have PE on a Thursday. On PE days, children should come to school in trainers and shorts, leggings or jogging bottoms with their polo t-shirt and school jumper.
Read 4 The Stars: We ask children to read four times a week and have their reading diary signed each time they read. If your child reads four times in a week, they will earn a reading star and we have lots of rewards and incentives. Diaries will be checked on Fridays.
Homework: Homework will be issued on Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday. Children can keep working on their spellings, reading and practising times tables on Times Tables Rock Stars.
Spellings: Spellings will be issued on a Monday and they will be tested the following Monday. Please ensure children practise their spellings daily.
If you need to speak to a member of staff, please do so via our Class Dojo and follow what we get up to in class on our Class Story and on our Twitter page @coppullprimary
