Safeguarding

Safeguarding and Wellbeing

At Coppull Primary School and Nursery we are passionate about safeguarding and ensuring our children are safe and happy. The health, safety and well-being of every child is our top priority. We expect all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment to safeguarding our pupils

We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us. All school staff are trained in safeguarding procedures, and children are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns. If you have concerns about a child’s safety or welfare we have designated people you can talk to.

Claire Duxbury – Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Mr Chambers – Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Miss Parkinson – Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Please see the  policies and procedures  that we follow to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in our care

At Coppull Primary School and Nursery we are dedicated to supporting children to be the very best version of themselves. To support their emotional and mental health, we have a wellbeing team that are trained in numerous therapeutic interventions. We work closely with class teachers, parents and outside agencies to ensure the child receives the correct support.

We also recognise that parenting is the hardest job to do. We are here to support with any family needs such as behaviour issues, sleep routines, housing, finances and mental health. We also have links with the Children and Family Well-being service and Homestart.

Please feel free to pop in and have a confidential chat with either Claire or Kate.

Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass is a police and education early information sharing partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support for children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. Information is shared by the police with a school's trained Key Adult (DSL) prior to the start of the next school day after officers have attended a domestic abuse incident thus enabling appropriate support to be given, dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child.

Children experiencing domestic abuse are negatively impacted by this exposure; domestic abuse has been identified as an Adverse Childhood Experience and can lead to emotional, physical and psychological harm. Operation Encompass aims to mitigate this harm by enabling immediate support, making a child's day better and giving them a better tomorrow
