SEND Information
At Coppull Primary School and Nursery we value all children in our school and we are committed to inclusion, equal opportunities and providing a high quality education for all children.
The term 'Special Educational Needs and Disabilities' (SEND) has a legal definition, referring to children who have learning difficulties or disabilities that make it harder for them to learn or access education than most children of the same age.
At Coppull Primary School we aim to match the pupils’ needs with appropriate support. Help may be given in a variety of ways, ranging from quality first whole class teaching, carefully differentiated work, small group support or through extra interventions.
Pupils requiring support which is additional to, or different from, that which is normally provided, are placed on our SEND register so that their progress and support can be monitored. All children on the SEND register will have an individual support plan (ISP), which identify their needs, targets and planned interventions. These plans are shared with the children and parents and reviewed regularly.
If a child who is on the SEND register requires further support than what school is currently providing a full assessment is carried out for an Education, Heath and Care Plan (EHCP)
We have a Special Educational Needs policy which is available to any parents through our website. Our policy follows the Code of Practice for pupils with Special Educational Needs 2014 and the Equality Act 2010.
Should you have questions about SEND provision at Coppull Primary School please do not hesitate to contact our SENCo.
Our School SENDCO is Miss L Todhunter and our SEND Governor is Emma Price.
