Welcome to Reception Class – Rowan.
In Reception, the children make the exciting and important start to school.
We encourage the children’s independence and enjoy learning through both focused tasks and structured play.
We have a new theme each half term to engage the children and to encourage a love of learning and curiosity about the world around them.
We value working with parents as partners and really appreciate your support with your child’s homework and reading. We will send home ‘tricky words’ for you to practice reading and spelling with your child.
We are currently sending home reading books on Monday to be returned to school the following Friday. Please support your child’s progress in reading by reading four times or more during the week. Our Read 4 the Stars initiative means that children can get rewards for reading regularly.
PE: Due to the situation with Coronavirus, school is asking that the children come to school dressed in their P.E. kits on the day that they have their P.E lesson. Our P.E. lesson during Spring 2 will be on Fridays.
Snack: Toast can be purchased through SCOPay at a cost of £1 a week.
Our teacher is Mrs Wakefield and our teaching assistants are Mrs Smith, Mrs Ramsdale and Mrs Bell.
On Friday, Mrs Yates is the class teacher for Rowan Class.
Please do not hesitate to contact us on our Class Dojo if you have any queries or questions.
