Welcome to Beech class with Mrs Hughes.
In Beech class, we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that is enriched with school trips and visitors throughout the year. We encourage all children to become independent life-long learners in all areas of the curriculum. We work hard but also have fun to ensure that all children learn and enjoy their time in school.
We will provide a safe and caring environment in which all children can succeed in achieving their potential following our school’s mission of aim high, respect all, enjoy learning and achieve.
Key information:
Read 4 the Stars:
Read for the stars will continue and will be checked each week. Please encourage your child to read at least 4 times per week and take part. Children will win awards for taking part weekly but more importantly, reading is one of the most important aspects of education as it is a skill required in every other subject area.
Homework:
Spellings will be sent home every Monday and will be tested the following Monday. Homework books will be sent home on a Friday and will need to be back in by the following Wednesday.
PE Kit:
P.E kit should come into school preferably in a drawstring bag and should consist of a plain white, round necked t-shirt, black shorts and black pumps or trainers. Earrings are not permitted during P.E.
Music: We will be learning how to play the ukulele with Mr Richards. He will teach music on a Monday. If your child has a ukulele at home, please encourage them to bring it in to use.
School Uniform:
Please ensure that your child follows the school’s uniform policy every day, including the correct footwear. Children may bring a bag into school, but pencil cases are not permitted. Please ensure your child brings a water bottle to school each day to keep hydrated, this may be refilled in school.
Tuck:
This should be paid for in advance via SCOPay. It helps us if this can be paid for a full half term so that we don’t miss anyone out if it is done so on an ad hoc basis.
Thank for your support and if you have any questions or concerns then please message on Class Dojo.
