Year 2 - Pear Class

Year 2 - Pear Class

Welcome to Pear Class.

Our teacher is Mrs Barnes

Here in Pear class we are always ready to learn and try our best. We build on the knowledge and skills you have learnt in Year 1 and encourage independence through the use of equipment in class. We celebrate a growth mindset by children ‘having a go’ at tasks they find challenging and not being worried about making mistakes.

Pear Class Themes - Here is an example of some of the learning taking place this year.

The world around me – We will be looking at the naming the four countries that make up the UK including the surrounding seas in geography, in history looking at what Coppull was like in the past and developing our sewing skills in design and technology.

Fire! Fire! – We will be focusing on the Great Fire of London in history, sculpting in art and understanding what animals need to survive in science.

Space – We will be learning about Neil Armstrong in science, programming and debugging in computing sessions and understanding how we change and group up in PSHE.
