Welcome to Pear Class
Welcome to Pear Class. We are a Year 2 class who enjoy learning, growing and achieving together. We aim high in all that we do and we enjoy a challenge. The children are encouraged to become independent learners and our exciting curriculum encourages them to become well-rounded and responsible citizens of the future. Each half term our learning will be focussed around a different theme to ensure that the children remain motivated, enthused and eager learners. We have lots of fun activities planned to support the children’s learning across the year and we hope that you enjoy hearing about their days in school!
Our theme this half term is ‘Growth and Green Fingers’. As part of this topic, we will be looking at our local area, using maps and starting to find out all about plants.
Pear Class have PE sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays this half term. Please make sure your child has their PE kit in school and has removed earrings on these days.
Uniform: Please ensure all uniform is labelled with your child’s name including PE kits and coats.
PE kits need to be in school every day. Please provide your child with black shorts, black pumps and a white t-shirt. If your child wears earrings please remove these on PE days or if not possible, could we ask for plasters to be sent with your child to cover their ears with.
Please send in a labelled water bottle that your child can use throughout the school day.
Read for the stars!
The initiative Read for the Stars will be continuing this half term. The initiative asks children to read a minimum of 4 times per week (from Thursday to Thursday). Adults at home are asked to ensure that if their child reads, they sign their reading record as proof of this reading. If your child gains 4 or more signatures in a week, they will earn a star.
This is again a very busy half term. Please refer to the newsletters for key dates.
If you have any concerns or worries, please do not hesitate to come and speak to us before or after school
