In Year 3 we work hard, try our best in everything we do, enjoy learning and celebrate our achievements. The children are encouraged to be active, independent and motivated learners to ensure that they are ready for the challenges of Key Stage 2. Please follow @coppullprimary on Twitter to see photographs of what we get up to!
PE: This half term we have PE on Wednesday and Friday. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school and that their kit is labelled with their name. Please leave this in school for the half term.
Homework: The children will be set homework every Friday. This will either be set on www.activelearnprimary.co.uk, or will need to be completed in their homework books. Spellings will be sent home on a Monday and tested the following week.
Times Tables: Learning the times tables is a vital part of the year 3 curriculum and the children will be encouraged to practise regularly at home and tested in school. The tables they need to know by the end of this are; 1s, 2’s, 10’s and 5’s, 11s, 3’s, 6’s and 8’s. Some of these they will already know from year 1 and 2.
There are some great apps and games such as - Squeebles Times Tables 2, Hit the Button, Maths Times Table Trainer.
Reading: Hearing your child read regularly at home is key for supporting their spelling and writing. Keep your eye out for our new school reading challenge.
We have an open door policy if you have any concerns please do not hesitate to speak to me.
